Regents Park is located 22 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, a suburb in western Sydney within the local government area of Cumberland Council and City of Canterbury-Bankstown.

The area received its present name when the railway station in 1924 got connected with Lidcombe to Bankstown. The suburb was given its name from a local property built in 1879 by Mr Peck and Mr Johnson which they in turn had named after Regent’s Park, in the north-west of London. Previous names for the area has been Potts Hill School, Sefton Park School and Regent Park School.

The Regents Park Football Club is the local junior football club that plays in the Granville & District Soccer Football Association and their home ground is Princes Park.

A notable resident from this area is Peter Skrzynecki, an Australian Poet of Polish and Ukrainian origin with works such as: ‘Immigrant Chronicle’, ‘Headwaters’ and ‘Appointment Northwest.’
