Georges Hall is a suburb of local government area City of Canterbury-Bankstown, located in the state of New South Wales and is part of the South-western Sydney region.

In 1809 this suburb obtained its name from the garrison of soldiers that were stationed in the farmhouse of George’s Hall to ensure the safety of Lt Colonel Johnston as he conducted a census in the area.

Georges Hall has a number of heritage-listed sites, including 1a Lionel Street: ‘The Homestead’ which is a large single story former homestead and now housing a school. It was built by David Johnston in 1837 also known as Georges Hall and was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

This area features plenty of beautiful parks and reserves. ‘Garrison Point’ is a historically significant park, an artificial lake that forms an imperative breeding ground for birds. ‘Lake Gillawarna’ and ‘Garrison Point’ are two other landmarks that together form the southern part of a reserve called ‘Mirambeena Regional Park’ which in total consists of five parks.
