Shellharbour is a suburb part of the City of Shellharbour located in Illawarra, New South Wales. It is also known as Shellharbour village for its recreational facilities available by its beaches. The current Mayor of the Shellharbour City Council is Councillor Marianne Saliba, who is accompanied on the council by six other Councillors – Kellie Marsh, John Murray, David Boyle, Paul Rankin, Peter Moran and Helen Stewart.
The 2 main beaches in Shellharbour – Shellharbour Beach, which spans up to Barrack Point and Shellharbour South Beach which spans to Bass Point are popular beaches for simply swimming, body boarding, surfing, fishing, or just relaxingin the sun. Next to Shell harbour itself is the Beverley Whitfield saltwater swimming pooland not too far away is the Beverley Whitfield park where the Tom “Scout” Willoughby cricket oval is constructed.
