Everton Hills is part of the Moreton Bay Region in North West Brisbane. The Cabbage Tree Creek cuts across its northern most border while the Kedron Brook runs on the southern border. The suburb was named after Everton Lodge which sits on South Pine Road, in its neighbouring suburb Everton Park.Everton Hills was part of another suburb named Bunyaville up until 1979 when it detached to form its own area. Bunyaville itself was part of the town of Kedron up until 1877 with an old timber reserve on Old Northern Road was split and redesignated for development.
Landmarks currently in the area worth mentioning are the Prince of Peace Lutheran College Senior Campus and the Hills Church of the Wesleyan Methodist denomination. There are also a number of small parks here including the Georges Park, Fred Ward Park and the Dandoloo Reserve. The Cabbage Tree Bikeway also runs across the parkland adjacent to the Cabbage Tree Creek and ends at the Bunyaville Substation in the north east corner of the suburb.
