Brendale is part of the Moreton Bay Region in North Brisbane in the Pine Rivers district and geographically located right above the South Pine River. Historically, it is mostly been an industrial suburb as the river flats in the area had clad deposits. The PGH Brickworks was opened in 1961 on Kremzow road to capitalise on this. There is also the South Pine Substation which is a large electrical transmissions substation and the Brendale Waste Water Treatment plant.

Of the non-industrial nature, there is the Brendale Farmers Market shopping centre as well as the Wantima Country Club and the South Pine Sporting Complex which houses the BIO Beach Volleyball Centre. There are also several small parks dotted in the suburb as well. These include Kremzow Park, England Park and Nolan Park.
