Albion is located in the North East of Brisbane as part of the city of Brisbane and it is centred on Little Cabbage Tree Creek. After Brisbane became a free settlement, a vineyard was established by the Morris family in the early 1870s and it was named “Aspley Vineyard” after the Aspley Hall in Nottingham, England. Not too long after, the vineyard lent its name to the area it was built in when Little Cabbage Tree Creek District was renamed Aspley in 1897.

Aspley is known mostly used for farming and in the 1880s, John Smith Booth set up a bone mill and sawmill,Huttons Pty Ltd set up a meat processing plant nearby as well and these 2 businesses helped the economy of Aspley to flourish as well as provide employment. After World War I, businesses here continued to flourish and up to this day, there are a great number of hubs for the local residents here to shop at including The Aspley Hypermarket and the Aspley Village Shopping Centre.
