The Municipality of Hunter’s Hill with Mayor Clr. Richard Quinn, is in the northern suburbs of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia at 6 square kilometres by area, making it the smallest local government area there.
For recreation, the council hosts the Moocooboola Festival and the Food & Wine Fair at Boronia Park.
As of 2011, there were 13,215 people in Hunter’s Hill with 49.5% males and 50.5% females while Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people made up 0.4%.
A 2015 review of local government boundaries by the NSW Government Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal recommended that the Municipality of Hunter’s Hill merge with adjoining councils, thus proposing a merger of the Hunter’s Hill, Lane Cove and Ryde Councils to form a new council to support a population of approximately 164,000. The outcome of an independent review is expected by mid–2016.
