The Northern Beaches span from Palm Beach at the tip of Morning Bay and the Pittwater inlet right down to the Sydney Harbour National Park where Manly Beach is. These indicate that the 3 local government areas of Manly, Warringah and Pittwater would fall under this categorisation.
Obviously the biggest draw of the area are the beaches, each of which have been well built up to sport rock pools and shower and toilet facilities and even playgrounds, barbecue pits and picnic areas. The full list of beaches include Manly, Freshwater, Curl Curl, Dee Why, Long Reef, Collaroy, Narrabeen, Turimetta, Warriewood, Mona Vale, Bungan, Newport, Bigola, Avalon, Whale, and Palm beach.
There are a number of notable rugby teams playing under the Northern Beaches including the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, North Harbour Rays, Manly RUFC, and the Warringah Rugby Club.
